THEY REVEL in their auburn Spring
And sing the songs of Summer’s light
With wide-eyed will they oust the king
That brought them pain and Winter’s plight
But will their Summer Sun prevail
Will Winter never shed a flake
I hope so, but I cannot tell
I hope so for their freedom’s sake
For though I watch with joyous eyes
And see their cruelty meet its end
Another Winter could arise
By crude ambitions once again

"Another winter could arise." So true, so very true. Excellent poem, and an excellent thought.
